OUR SERVICES

Who we work with

Evolve Psychotherapy welcomes pre-teens, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, and life's harder moments. As a queer and neurodivergent-affirming practice, we provide a space where LGBTQ2S+ and neurodivergent clients can feel truly seen. We also work with first responders processing the unique demands of their work. Wherever you're starting from, you'll be met with a plan that's built around you, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Frequently asked questions

We start with a biopsychosocial assessment, which is just me getting to know you in a holistic manner: your history, your health, your current lifestyle, what brought you in, as well as your strengths and supports. From there we set clear goals together and use a brief formal assessment so we both have a baseline measurement of your symptoms. We'll revisit that assessment down the road so you can actually see your progress, not just hope it's happening.

Both are bottom-up, body-based approaches to trauma. This means that they work with how trauma is held in the nervous system, not just how trauma has changed the way we think. EMDR uses auditory, tactical, or visual bilateral stimulation to help reprocess difficult memories while somatic therapy focuses on the physical sensations connected to stress and trauma. I use them together as an alternative to top-down approaches, cognitive-behavioural approaches such as cognitive processing therapy, which is another evidence-based way of targeting trauma. Together, we'll explore whether a body-based, bottom-up approach or cognitive, top-down approach will fit you best.

Direct, structured, and collaborative. I believe you deserve a therapist who will be honest with you while also making you feel heard, understood, and supported, because meaningful change starts with having a clear understanding of what’s really going on. Together, we’ll develop a practical, concrete plan for therapy, so you know what we’re working toward, why we’re doing it, and what progress can look like along the way. Clients often tell me they appreciate having that clarity and sense of direction throughout the process.
